Welcome

Hey. I’m Buckhorn.
Not flashy. Not trying too hard. Just the kind of place that looks even better without a filter.

I’m carved out of the Canadian Shield—granite beneath your feet, evergreens overhead, and a rhythm that’s a little slower, a little steadier. I’m where you go to breathe deeply, cast a line, or sit by the fire and just be.

I sit between Buckhorn Lake and Lower Buckhorn Lake, right at Lock 31 on the Trent-Severn. And while I’m only two hours from Toronto, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a whole other world—one with more loons, fewer honking horns.

You’ll find me hiking in Kawartha Highlands or tracing history at Petroglyphs Provincial Park. Or maybe I’m sipping coffee at the dock before heading out for a paddle.

I’ve only got about 400 year-round residents, but don’t let that fool you—I’m rich in community. The Buckhorn Community Centre is the heart of it all, and if you’re the social type, there’s always something happening at the Yacht Harbour.

When it’s time to eat, I keep it simple:
– A cozy dinner at Mainstreet Bar & Grill
– Dim sum at the Cody Inn (yes, really—locals know)
– Or a lakeside pizza from Pizza Alloro

And if you're more into browsing than boating, I’ve got galleries, artisan shops, and handmade everything. The Buckhorn Fine Art Festival is basically my version of dressing up.

I may be small, but I’m mighty. A little wild, a little weathered, and absolutely worth getting to know.

Bonus points if you don’t mind a little gravel in your shoes.
